Your Rights

Presentation Media (Print Rights)

You may display the work (i.e. sheet music) in any form as long as it is used for only a single ensemble at a time. You may print or display lyrics that are part of the work in any form.

What you can do

  • Print as many copies as needed for your entire ensemble.

  • Display the work on a projector for your entire ensemble to see.

What you cannot do

  • Print copies of only one purchase for multiple ensembles at an event, even if it is only for temporary use.

  • Let another ensemble "borrow" the work at the same time you are using it for your ensemble.

Performances (Performance / Theatrical Rights)

Your purchase of the work includes the right to perform at any event (public/private/dramatic performance, narration, etc.). You may also stream the video or play the audio over the radio. See the Royalties section below for information about royalties. Contact the publisher if you or your organizations requires written permission.

Video / Audio Distribution (Synchronization / Mechanical Rights)

You may publish a video online or write it to a DVD. You may also publish an audio-only version or write it to a CD. See the Royalties section below for information about royalties.

Royalties

Paying performance or distribution royalties to the composer/arranger is not mandatory as this is not easily enforceable. However, if you would like to pay royalties to the composer/arranger, please contact the composer/arranger directly.

Exceptions

Film, commercials, radio, etc.

Contact the composer/arranger before using the work in any form in the mass market.
